It was a short trading week, with markets closed Friday as the country celebrated its 250th birthday. I hope your weekend looked like ours: hot, full of barbecue, family, friends, and gratitude. And just like that, we are officially in the second half of the year. The months ahead bring a steady stream of data on how the economy is holding up and whether inflation keeps normalizing, all of which will shape the conversation heading into the midterms this fall. I am also watching the resolution in the Strait of Hormuz and what it means for energy costs, which touch every single family. As always, we will follow the data.
